  • Quantum Teleportation: send unknown quantum state using shared entangled state (e-bit); require classical communication
  • Quantum Superdense Coding: send 2 bits of information using a single qubit (still using shared entangled qubits)

How to send quantum state from Alice to Bob?

Protocol:

  1. Goal: To send unknown quantum state $|\psi \rangle$ from Alice to Bob.
  2. Pre-condition: Alice and Bob shares 2-qubit entangled state (e-bit); One part with each.
  3. Alice uses her part of e-bit to entangle $|\psi \rangle$ using CNOT gate.
  4. Further applies Hadamard gate to $|\psi \rangle$ and performs measurment both qubits.
  5. The results are sent to Bob.
  6. Bob performs correction on Alice’s two bit information.
  7. If everything correct, Bob’s e-bit part becomes $|\psi \rangle$.
